Does this sound like you?
You are the friend everyone comes to for support & advice.
You are very sensitive to the moods of others & you do a lot of listening in your relationships.
People just feel better after talking to you!
——
The problem is you have very few relationships where you feel like someone is listening to you and there for you.
You fall so easily into the role of caring for others that you don’t know how to ask for support when you need it, let alone feel comfortable doing so.
——
Being vulnerable may not come naturally for you, but you are finding yourself in need of a space that is just for you—a refuge of sorts—where you can open up about how you’ve been feeling.
——
In therapy, you get to experience the same care & attentiveness from me that you freely offer to so many in your life.
Together we create that space where you feel seen, heard & understood.

How Will I Know Therapy is Working?
The markers of progress in therapy will be different from person to person. But, generally, if you notice you are becoming kinder towards yourself, more in-tune with your internal experience, and more willing to feel your feelings, you are on the right track! You might also find yourself developing a stronger sense of self and greater responsiveness to YOUR wants, needs, and emotions.
What is a Highly Sensitive Person?
There are a lot of misconceptions about what it means to be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). High sensitivity—also termed sensory-processing sensitivity—is found in 15-20% of the population- men and women, extroverts and introverts alike.
It is not a diagnosis, but rather an innate temperament trait, a neurological sensitivity to sensory and emotional stimuli. Interestingly, researchers have found that high sensitivity shows up in more than 100 animal species.
Highly Sensitive People are deep thinkers, naturally empathetic, highly responsive to the emotions/moods of others and acutely aware of subtleties in their environment. Dr. Elaine Aron uses the acronym DOES to summarize the trait of high sensitivity: 1) Depth of Processing, 2) Overstimulation, 3) Emotional Responsiveness/Empathy, 4) Sensitive to Subtleties/Sensory Stimuli.
You might be highly sensitive if you have a rich, complex inner life and need more downtime than others to thoroughly process all that you’re taking in. While it is common for sensitive people to struggle with overwhelm, sensitivity also comes with many strengths including kindness, empathy, intuition, conscientiousness, introspection, and creativity.

Ready to Get Started?
Our first step is to schedule a (free) 20 minute consultation video call so we can get a feel for whether we’d be a good fit.
This is your opportunity to share about yourself and what has brought you into therapy at this time. My goal is to get to know you and what you’re struggling with. We will discuss what you hope to gain from your therapy experience, as well as what you can expect from me as your therapist & how the process of therapy works.
